Be Aware of Fake Recruiters - Recruitment Scammers! Do not Pay for any Recruitment Services!

Scammers are increasing their efforts to trick job seekers by impersonating legitimate recruitment agencies. The Topnotch Group of Companies (Topnotch Employment Services, Topnotch Executive Staffing, and Medican Staffing) warns all job seekers to be cautious when responding to job offers from calls, social media ads, or job boards. If you receive a job offer you didn't apply for or are asked to pay for recruitment services, these are red flags. Do not pursue these offers

Warning Signs of Recruitment Scams

  1. Job offers for positions you didn't apply for.
  2. Requests for payment for job opportunities, interviews, training, or other expenses.
  3. Topnotch Group of Companies contacts job seekers only via phone or email. Its telephone numbers are 416-741-0066 and 416-741-2770 They do not use WhatsApp or LinkedIn.
  4. Offers of high salaries for minimal work or qualifications. Verify their background—do they have a website or office?
  5. Communication via text, suspicious LinkedIn profiles, or personal emails should raise red flags.
  6. Vague job postings lacking company information, such as an official website or contact details.
  7. Quick hiring without an interview.
  8. Requests for money for applications or training. Legitimate agencies do not ask for money.
  9. Attempts to obtain personal information like ID or bank details.
  10. The scammers would try to obtain your personal information such as ID or bank account details, for fraudulent purposes.
